About Myself
With over four decades in aviation, my story began in 1973 when I joined the Irish Air Corps.
Over a seventeen year period there I worked as an aerial photographer, Search & Rescue winch crew and finally as an Air Traffic Controller.
In 1990 I joined the Irish Coast Guard Search and rescue R115 as winch crew.
In 1993 I was awarded the Marine Silver Medal for Meritorious Service for my part in rescuing six Spanish fishermen in mountainous seas at night sixty nautical miles west of Slyne head.
During the mid 90’s I gained A Private pilots licence aeroplane and Commercial helicopter licence.
In 2001 i retired from SAR to follow a career in Commercial helicopter flying where I flew multiple types of helicopters.
I retired from flying in 2013.
In 2014 I have turned my lifelong passion for photography into a focused pursuit of Fine Art Light Painting drawing on decades of precision discipline and an eye for detail.
“Each of my light painting images are created in-camera using various lighting tools, long exopsures, and physical movement in the dark- often in rugged , atmospheric locations. There’s no digital trickery, just a deliberate dance between light, camera and environment. The result: vibrant, otherworldly images that blend motion, emotion, and story.
Let’s create something extraordinary.”
